The 2023 Ontario Sunshine List has been released and the numbers reveal that City Hall staff has received significant pay bumps in the last year.

The highest paid employee over at City Hall is still Chief Administrative Officer Manoj Dilwaria who earned $214,970.23 in 2023, which is an increase of more than $17,000 when compared to the year before.

The Director of Finance Maria Mauro took home $158,264.59, which is an increase of almost $13,000.

The Director of Operations and Community Services Geoff Holman earned $157,572.07, which amounts to an increase of $12,000.

Meanwhile, the Director of Development Services Jason Simpson made $150,663.62, which is an increase of a whopping $26,000. The large sum is probably due to his recent promotion to the position, which came at the end of 2022.

All other City Hall staff on the list made below $150,000, including City Clerk Matthew Trennum who made $124,699.19.

When it comes to the City's fire department there are a few employees making over $150,000.

The new leader of the pack is Fire Chief Terry Dixon, who made $157,682.74, an increase of $11,000 compared to the year before. He is followed by Fire Captain Barry Smith who took home $157,034.35, which is a modest $3,000 increase when compared to the year before. He is closely followed by Fire Captain Tyler Custers who made $154,047.42.

The other firefighters on the list, who made $100,000 or more, took home anywhere between $106,000 and $147,000.
