Nothing stops a superhero – not even a pandemic.
So on October 3, local Avengers, Wonder Women, Spidermen and likely a villain or two will be doing the 6th annual Superhero Run virtually.
Put on by the Niagara Children's Centre in St Catharines, the yearly event raised $85,000 last year in support of children and families who rely on the Centre's therapy services.
So far this year, the event says it has already raised $35,000 out of its $50,000 goal with a month left to go.
“We know this event is a favourite for the families of our Centre and members of the community,” said Oksana Fisher, CEO of Niagara Children's Centre.
“We wanted to find a way to keep the spirit alive, while respecting the recommendations of our governments and health units. We’re thankful that our supporters and donors remain committed to our mission of helping kids shine and were excited to join us again this year – socially distanced style.”
Niagara Children's Centre serves children and youth with physical, developmental and/or communicative delays or disabilities.
