The City of Thorold will be reopening a number of facilities and amenities as a result of Niagara entering Stage 3 of the provincial reopening today, Friday.
The following services will become available with Ontario’s stage-three phase:
• July 27 – Reopening of City Hall by appointment only for select services
• July 27 – Lakeview Cemetery Mausoleum will be open daily 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. with periodic cleaning
• July 28 – Baseball Fields (Sullivan and McMillan Parks) can be booked for use, until September 7, 2020
• July 28 – Soccer Field at C.E. Grosse Park can be booked for use with no amenities, until September 7, 2020
• July 28 – Washrooms at municipal parks will be open for use
• July 28 – All city-owned playground equipment and boardwalks. Safety signage installation is ongoing
• July 28 – Dry Floor Use at Frank Doherty Arena can be booked, access to lobby for viewing will be permitted as of August 4th
• Thorold Fire and Emergency Services continue all emergency services and administrative matters are by appointment only
• Thorold Public Works & Engineering Services continue to offer all infrastructure services, administrative matters are by appointment only
• Lakeview Cemetery continues to offer all services, administrative matters are by appointment only, please contact [email protected]
• Arena Office continues to offer modified services, administrative matters are by appointment only, available facility bookings can be made via this website or by contacting [email protected]
The following facilities will remain closed until further notice:
• Thorold Community Pool is closed for the season
• Allanburg Community Centre
• Darlene Ryan Port Robinson Community Centre
• Any other baseball or soccer park not noted above
Stage-three of the re-opening strategy also permits indoor gatherings with a maximum of 50 people and outdoor gatherings with a maximum of 100 people. A two-metre distance must be maintained at all gatherings and events.
