The pandemic thwarted most public events in the area this summer – but a local arts organization is offering ‘delivery’-entertainment.

Niagara Folk Arts Festival is auctioning out performances from a range of local performers in everything from music and dance to broadsword fencing and shadow puppetry.

Once the highest bid has been received, the festival office will make the arrangements.

The event sometimes requires the host to provide electricity, and no food or drink can be offered, the website said.

‘These presentations are meant to be hosted by you and offered to your immediate Neighbours. Municipalities will be made aware of the presentations and gathering numbers will be monitored. The Festival cannot control calls of non-compliance made to the By-Law offices. The Festival will do its best to minimize the gatherings of groups larger than the current allotment, but will not be held responsible for the repayment of any fines incurred by the Host or their Neighbours or anyone that is not in compliance,’ the auction website states.

The performances will be live-streamed and supported by Cogeo through the Source and YourTV, the event said.
