Niagara Region have annnounced temporary changes to their transit service.

Niagara Region Transit is making temporary service changes, which come into effect on Monday, May 4.
These changes are a result of impacts on service demands and resources due to COVID-19.
The hours of service will now be slightly reduced from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m., with the last trips departing during the 8 p.m. hour.
Previously, Niagara Region Transit was operating from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m.
Routes 40/45 between Niagara Falls and St. Catharines will be removed until further notice. Passengers can still travel between Niagara Falls and St. Catharines using the 50/55 route.
All other Niagara Region Transit routes will continue to operate with hourly service which began on March 23.
The following physical distancing measures are still in effect to protect the health and safety of riders and drivers, and help reduce the spread of COVID-19:
- Rear boarding on conventional transit is still in effect; riders will board the bus via the rear door to help protect transit drivers
- The number of passengers is limited to 10 on any bus
Niagara Region Transit and all other local transit operators are sanitizing their conventional and specialized transit vehicles on a regular basis.
These changes are temporary and will be in effect until further notice. Any changes will be communicated to riders and the community as they are determined.
