The Pen Centre says a store has been disinfected after learning a 'recent visitor' to the building tested positive on COVID-19.
In a Monday memo sent out to tenants at the mall seen by Thorold News, the property owner OPB Realty said the individual was last in the building on July 13 and began experiencing symptoms after that.
It did not specify the store name.
"The tenant space and other affected areas within the building will undergo an appropriate disinfection this evening," the memo read.
In addition, janitorial staff has been directed to deep clean various surfaces.
On Tuesday another memo was sent out to tenants stating that an employee at one of the stores was staying at home due to a 'suspected case' of COVID-19.
Thorold News reached out to the Pen Centre for comment but did not hear back.
As of Tuesday, Niagara Region had 41 active cases of COVID-19.
