A worker at the Welland Beer Store on 23 Thorold Road E has tested positive for COVID-19, the company said in a statement this afternoon.

The employee last worked on April 15, almost two weeks ago, and is now at home in self-isolation.

Affected workers have also gone into self-isolation, said the statement.

“We are all sending our best wishes and positive thoughts for a speedy recovery. Affected workers are currently self-isolating. The Welland location will re-open Wednesday. We have immediately implemented a full COVID-19 protocol at the store, which will be subject of a wall-to-wall disinfectant cleaning and fogging,” spokesman Bill Walker said.

More information shortly.
