In response to the dozens of migrant workers who lost everything in the massive fire that broke out Friday evening at Pioneer Flower Farms in west St. Catharines, PenFinancial Credit Union has set up an emergency account and will be accepting donations at their eight branch locations.

"We have many farmers in our communities across Niagara and Haldimand County who employ local and migrant workers and many of these people are members of our credit union,” stated Ken Janzen, PenFinancial’s CEO. “We are saddened by this tragedy and want to do what we can to facilitate donations to help our friends and neighbours during this extremely difficult time.”

Donations of new socks and underwear, toiletries (shampoo, soap, body wash, shaving supplies, etc) as well as monetary donations will be accepted at all eight branches of the credit union. Branches are located in St. Catharines, Welland, Niagara Falls, Fonthill, Fort Erie and Dunnville. For address information please visit www.penfi.ca.
