After a winter hiatus, Art on Front is back, with featured art being showcased at Figg Street Company and Chapel Street Designs Artisan Boutique, both situated near the southern end of Front Street.
Rene Inman, owner of Chapel Street Designs, will welcome the public to meet artists with experience ranging from emerging to established—all with eclectic techniques and styles—at her art and gift shop from 5 to 8 p.m. April 11.
Among them is 13-year-old Xander Loots, who has an extremely unique approach to art. The inventive student creates abstract art by letting musical vibrations from a speaker unleash paint onto canvas in a free-flowing fashion.
Lynn Majander, whose colourful oil paintings sprang into Whimsical Dreams later in life, will also share creations from her artistic journey, along with Dorothy Clayton—a fellow Niagara Falls artist—who displayed some of her artwork at last year’s How Great Thou Art event hosted by the Friends of Beaverdams Church.
Also appearing will be Arlynne Tiongson, featuring her hand-painted floral purses and bags of all types, sizes and fabrics, most of which hold a laptop and/or iPad.
“I’ll have a total of four artists showcasing their work for the months of April, May and June,” said Inman, adding that free refreshments will be provided during Thursday’s Art on Front event.
Coming soon, she’ll host a Game of Thrones-inspired class in which participants can make their own medieval type jewellery.
Chapel Street Designs is located at 46B Front Street South, and Figg Street Company is at 40 Front Street South.
