Canada Post is currently on strike, but at Thorold City Hall, it’s business as usual.
To help residents stay on top of their bills, the city has put together an informative web page.
“It is important to note, property owners and residents are still responsible for on-time property tax and water payments by their due date,” writes City Hall on the website. “Regular penalties will apply for late payments.”
City Hall urges residents to use their e-billing system if possible. If a resident prefers a hard copy of their water bill, they can pick it up in person at City Hall.
“Current water bills will be available for pick up at City Hall starting Wednesday, November 20, 2024 with a valid photo identification and a due date of Friday, December 13, 2024. Prior period water bills are still due by their respective due dates.”
Any reminder notices for late payments will not be mailed during the strike.
