Whether on foot or by vehicle, it’s going to take longer to cross the Welland Canal today through Thursday, as the St. Lawrence Seaway Management Corp. has provided notice of routine maintenance closures on four bridges.
Today and Wednesday, the Allanburg Bridge, in Thorold, will shut from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday the Glendale Avenue Bridge, in St. Catharines, will likewise close between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m.
On Thursday, both the Main Street and Mellanby Avenue bridges in Port Colborne will close, with Mellanby shutting noon to 4 p.m. and Main Street from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
