The Thorold Community Market was set to celebrate its grand opening this evening, but the weather decided otherwise.
Due to the risk for thunderstorms, City Hall has decided to cancel the event.
Funk band LMT Connection were supposed to take to the bandshell but the city is looking to reschedule the performance to a later date.
Next Wednesday will mark the opening of the Thorold Community Market in stead, when the Thorold Reed Band will perform.
The market will once again bring local farmers, community groups, food trucks, artisans, and live music to Battle of Beaverdams Park. The event will also coincide with the weekly car show, put on by the Thorold BIA.
The market is slated to run until September 4, with a big season finale on Saturday, September 14.
