City gears up for Canada Games celebration of Manitoba

Thorold is set to celebrate the culture of Manitoba on August 9 at Battle of Beaverdams Park; The celebration is part of the Canada Summer Games 13 for 13 Festival and will feature food trucks and musical performances

The City of Thorold will celebrate partner province Manitoba’s unique entertainment, art and cultural experiences on August 9, 2022 as part of the Niagara 2022 Canada Summer Games 13 for 13 Festival.

The celebration will be held at Battle of Beaverdams Park and will feature an art exhibit, interactive green screen photo booth, food trucks, a liquor licensed area and musical performances by Jade Turner and Jérémie and the Delicious Hounds, who will be flying from Manitoba into Niagara to play at the festival.

The evening will also be packed with fun kids activities, including a magic show, train ride, bubbles display, balloon animals and face painting.

Event Schedule

5:00 p.m. – Doors open
5:30 p.m. – Bumbling Bert’s Magic Show
6:30 p.m. – Jade Turner
7:45 p.m. – Lucky Barber Show with Kyle Sipkens
8:15 p.m. – Jérémie and the Delicious Hounds
9:30 p.m. – Event ends

Battle of Beaverdams Park will be closed for set up from August 8, 2022 at 4:00 p.m. until the event begins the following day. As parking downtown will be limited, attendees are invited to park at Thorold City Hall, 3540 Schmon Parkway, or at the Thorold Community Arena, 70 Front Street, and use the complimentary shuttle that will transport guests every 20 minutes to the park, beginning at 5:00 p.m. See attached map for details.

Admission is free and open to all ages. Pets are also welcome but the City reminds attendees that they must be leashed at all times.
