With both pandemic restrictions as well as the ongoing overhaul of the Battle of Beaverdams Park, the city had the odds stacked against them for organizing a Canada Day event - so this year, the annual celebration will be held as a drive-through event.
The local addition, on top of the ‘Canada Day The Niagara Way,’ is dubbed ‘Eh Thorold!’ a city update revealed.
The drive-through event will be held at the Thorold Community Arena on July 1, and will feature three interactive stations, with a display of the town’s largest fire truck, balloon animal artists and a Canada Day photobooth.
In order to participate, drivers must register one person on behalf of each vehicle using this link before July 1.
The city will also be accepting non-perishable food donations on behalf of Community Care.
