NEWS RELEASE
CITY OF THOROLD
*****************************
The Thorold: A Year for Health, Community and Connection program and event calendar for August is now available.
Earlier this summer, the City’s Age-Friendly Committee, Thorold Community Activities Group, Thorold Public Library and Thorold Seniors Centre jointly announced the new program, which has been made possible by the Government of Canada’s New Horizons for Seniors program.
All activities are free and support the program’s goals of engaging older adults in the community, encouraging inclusion and multigenerational participation, and reducing social isolation. August activities include Adult Zumba and Family Mad Science, Morning Cardio Fitness, Chair Yoga and Beginner Pickleball.
Activities will be hosted at Ontario Paper Thorold Senior Citizens Centre, Thorold Community Activities Group, Thorold Public Library and a number of municipal parks throughout the city.
In addition to the locations listed above, hard copy program calendars can be picked up at City Hall during business hours or the City’s booth at the Thorold Community Market on Wednesday evenings.
