Vandals took to Confederation Heights South Park over the weekend and covered the playground and splash pad with graffiti.
Obscene messages such as "F*** you" and "S*** my d***" covered the slide, ground, as well as the walls of the adjacent maintenance building.
Some of the messages also called out a few local teachers by name, indicating that the vandalism might be the work of some Thorold students.
City crews were already on the scene in the early hours of Monday morning to clean up the mess.
According to one crew member, the park gets vandalized with graffiti a few times every year.
“There are some very bored kids around here," he said.
