The face of Front Street is about to change again.

The former RBC Bank building on the corner of Front Street and Clairmont Street in Downtown Thorold is about to be renovated into a new dental office.

The dental office taking over the space is none other than Pine Street Dental, currently located on Pine Street, which will be rebranding as SmiLEE Dental Office.

The building renovation, which is designed by Raimondo + Associates Architects, will feature an extension of the existing mezzanine into a full second floor space, an addition of a new elevator and new fully glazed entrance atrium.

Said a statement on Raimondo + Associates Architects’ website, “The new glazed atrium carries the rhythm of the existing vertical strip windows and provides a sleek contemporary update to this locally significant Thorold Downtown corner. While seeking to upgrade the practice and the neighbourhood, the project stands to symbiotically benefit from and contribute to both.”

Construction is set to start this month, with an aimed completion date of September 2022.
