COVID-19: Another day of less than 15 cases in Niagara, as province logs fewest new infections since October

Tuesday marked another day of dramatically reduced COVID-19 case numbers as 13 cases were logged by Niagara Public Health. With 61 resolved cases, the number of active cases in Niagara is now 623.

One new death was recorded in relation to the pandemic. The official death toll is now 406. 

Niagara Health reports 24 hospitalized patients with COVID-19. 14 of those are being cared for in ICU.

The Tuesday vaccine update revealed almost 56 percent of Niagara residents have received at least one dose. As of this week, vaccinations opened up for residents 12 and over, who can now get immunized at any of the region's vaccination clinics. To book the vaccine, follow this link.

Provincially, the trend appears to continue to fall, with 699 new COVID-19 cases and 9 deaths reported on Tuesday in Ontario.

It is the lowest daily case count since October.
