All Niagara adults who are 50 years and older are welcome to expand their education with a Fall Lecture Series, presented by Lifelong Learning Niagara.
Deciphering Election Polls will be the topic for Oct. 9, followed by Harnessing the Power of the Immune System to Fight Cancer on Oct. 16, Identifying Real vs. Fake Science News on Oct. 23, and Feeding the World in 2050: How Great is the Challenge?
Run by volunteers, the self-managed non-profit group’s goal is to host stimulating and enlightening educational programs that appeal to a broad range of interests, while providing an opportunity to connect with other seniors in a friendly environment.
Each lecture runs from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. and is hosted by an expert speaker, who provides a brief presentation plus discussion and a question/answer period.
Funded by Third Age Network—an association of lifelong learning groups in Ontario, lectures are held in the spring and in autumn on consecutive Wednesdays, at the Armenian Community Centre, located at 156 Martindale Road in St. Catharines. The venue is wheelchair-accessible.
Tickets cost $10 for each lecture and can be purchased at the door on the day of the lecture, provided space is available.
