The City of Niagara Falls is conducting a study to evaluate and consider the future of the Chippawa Arena and Library. Our goal is to explore options for replacing or renovating the current 52-year-old arena while incorporating a new library branch and a versatile community event space. This initiative seeks to unify two aging facilities into a modern community centre that meets the needs of our growing population and ensures accessibility for all residents.
As we consider our options, we invite input from the community. Three general directions being explored are:
- Renovating the existing structure for an indoor turf facility and building an addition adjacent to the existing facility to accommodate a new NHL-sized rink, a larger dressing room footprint, a new library space, a gymnasium, and an event space.

We encourage all community members to participate in shaping the future of the Chippawa Arena and Library through the following engagement opportunities:
- Take the Survey.
- Share your perspectives on what the community needs as it grows to help inform the direction of the arena and library.
- Take the survey now. The survey closes on Friday, April 4, 2025.
- Attend our Open Houses.
- Engage with us in person on Tuesday, March 25, and Saturday, March 29. Join the discussions and provide your feedback directly.
- Provide comments and questions online.
- Residents can also share their thoughts and inquiries through our online platform, where a project team member will address them.
