Saying “yes” to ENCORE paid off for Patricia Tomlinson of Thorold. She matched the last six of seven ENCORE numbers in exact order in the August 27, 2024 LOTTO MAX draw to win $100,000!

Patricia, a retiree, is celebrating her first big win after playing the lottery with OLG for more than 30 years. “I checked the LOTTO MAX winning numbers on OLG.ca but none matched the numbers on my ticket. I didn’t check the winning ENCORE number and nearly threw out my ticket, but thankfully, I ended up holding on to it,” Patricia recounted, while visiting the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto to pick up her windfall. “I went to the store to have my ticket validated and saw the words ‘Big Winner’ appear on the screen. I couldn’t believe what I was seeing!”

“I was left numb and had to figure out where to put the ticket, for safe keeping,” Patricia laughed. “I first shared the news with my family. They thought I was joking until I had them check the winning numbers. Like me, they just couldn’t believe it!”

With her winnings, Patricia plans to pay some bills.

ENCORE offers 22 ways to win and can be played in conjunction with most lottery games for an extra $1. There are two ENCORE draws every day.

The winning ticket was purchased at Avondale on Richmond Street in Thorold.
