IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: A version of article was originally published by ThoroldToday on July 4.
Summertime means its construction season, but the city is tackling more than just roads this year.
As ThoroldToday reported, Sullivan Park is getting a brand new playground and splashpad.
On Thursday morning crews could be seen hard at work as they dismantled the old playground equipment, and dug up the concrete of the old splashpad.
The overhaul of the park will include the installation of new splash pad, new playground, new swings as well as other park amenities and accessible pedestrian concrete walkways.
The City has retained contractors D&R Landscape Group Inc., ABC Recreation Ltd., and Henderson Recreation Equipment to complete the project.
Construction will last for an estimated period of four to five months, so residents looking to take their little ones to the park will have to go somewhere else this summer.
