TORONTO – It was a big hit for Paul Desjardins of St. Catharines when he matched 12 of 12 winning numbers to win $250,000 with Hit Or Miss (Feb. 25, 2020 Draw #0171232). He also won an additional $2 on another Hit Or Miss draw, bringing his total winnings to $250,002.
A 75-year-old great-grandfather, Paul has been playing this set of numbers for about a year.
“It was a shock! I looked at the Customer Display Unit and saw the Big Winner message,” he shared, while at the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto to collect his cheque.
“I had no idea how much I won. When the cashier told me, I thought ‘Holy smokes,’ my daughter is going to go nuts! When I told her she said, ‘Dad, you’re one lucky guy!’”
The retired factory worker plans to buy a new truck.
“I’ve been driving the one I have for 16 years. I’m going to get the top of the line and give my old truck to my grandson,” he smiled. Paul plans to share the rest of his winnings with his family.
“This feels pretty good. I’d still love to win the Lotto Max though,” he laughed.
