As part of its capital improvements program, Niagara Parks is continuing its investment in infrastructure along the north Niagara Parkway this fall.

At the historic Queenston Heights Park nestled above the village of Queenston, Niagara Parks will be constructing four new tennis and pickleball courts. The new courts will replace the aging tennis court infrastructure. The project is scheduled to begin September 24, 2024, with the courts anticipated to open for play by June 2025.

Niagara Parks will also be completing resurfacing work along 850 metres of the Niagara River Recreation Trail from the pedestrian bridge at Line 3 Road to just south of Service Road 61. The work is scheduled to begin Tuesday, Oct. 15, with an expected completion date of Friday, Oct. 25, 2024.

These construction dates are weather permitting and subject to change.

As a self-funded agency of the Government of Ontario that does not receive taxpayer funding, Niagara Parks invests its earned revenue to fulfil its mandate of promoting and preserving the natural and cultural heritage along the Niagara River Corridor. This includes investments in improving and repairing infrastructure across its properties.
