Saying “yes” to Encore paid off for David Low of Niagara Falls. He matched the last six of seven Encore numbers in exact order in the Nov. 22, 2024 Lotto Max draw to win $100,000.

David, a mechanic, has been playing the lottery with OLG for about 30 years. He picks up his Lotto Max and Lotto 6/49 tickets weekly, using OLG’s Quick Pick feature to make his selections. The father of two always adds Encore to his tickets. This dedication now has him celebrating his first big win.

“I’d gone out to get gas, and since I was already there, I decided to check my tickets,” David recalled, while visiting the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto to pick up his winnings. “I scanned my Lotto Max ticket on the ticket checker and saw the ‘Big Winner’ message. In shock, I scanned it again and again. Then, I told the clerk what I had seen. When they checked my ticket and confirmed I’d won $100,000, I nearly passed out!”

“I was immediately filled with joy. It was an incredible, magical moment,” David smiled. “I shared the news with my wife, and she was just as excited as I was. This win will help me retire a lot sooner than planned.”

“You play with the hope of winning, but no one really thinks they will—until they do. It’s one heck of an unreal, life-changing feeling!” David concluded with a big grin.

David plans to invest his winnings for his retirement.

The winning ticket was purchased at Petro-Canada on Lundy’s Lane in Niagara Falls.
