TORONTO – BINGO! Elizabeth Howe of Niagara Falls won a $50,000 top prize with INSTANT BINGO (Game #3040).
Elizabeth, a mother and grandmother, is a casual lottery player who picks up a ticket when the mood strikes her. “When I do play, I like INSTANT BINGO. It’s familiar, I understand the game mechanics, and I like that it takes a little longer to play,” she said, while visiting the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto to pick up her winnings.
“I was playing my ticket when I saw that I had revealed the outside box. I couldn’t believe it, so I downloaded the OLG app and scanned my ticket. Even though the message said I had won $50,000, I still didn’t believe it,” Elizabeth smiled. “I took my ticket to the store to have it validated. When the prize was confirmed, I was in shock, yet surprisingly calm. Everyone else in the store was going crazy!”
“I called my dad and sister to share the good news. They didn’t believe me at first because I’m the jokester of the family,” Elizabeth laughed. “I can’t remember a time I’ve been as excited as I was that day. You always think it will happen to someone else.”
Elizabeth plans to use her winnings to purchase some items for her new home and treat herself to a well-deserved vacation.
INSTANT BINGO is available for $3 a play and the top prize is $50,000. Odds of winning any prize are 1 in 3.68.
The winning ticket was purchased at Big Deal Food Mart on York Street in St. Catharines.
