Niagara has over 460 active cases of COVID-19 after weekend increases

Another Niagara resident passed away this weekend after testing positive for COVID-19 said the region in its Monday morning update on the state of the pandemic in the region.

The fatality is the 444th death related to the pandemic in Niagara.

More than 100 new cases were confirmed over the weekend.

With Monday’s 45 cases the number of active infections in the region now sits at 461.

St Catharines and Niagara Falls are hovering around 100 active cases each.

Thorold has 24 active cases.

17 individuals are currently hospitalized with the virus.

7 of them are in the ICU.

According to Niagara Health, the breakdown of vaccination status is 11 unvaccinated and 6 fully vaccinated individuals.
