The Niagara Health Foundation extends its sincerest gratitude to LJM Developments and the Mian Family for their generous pledge of $2 million to support the development of the new South Niagara Hospital and the It's Our Future campaign. This significant contribution ensures that healthcare in Niagara is enhanced and that the residents of Niagara will have a world-class facility that will improve diagnosis and treatments while attracting the best and brightest healthcare professionals to Niagara.
The Foundation has been overwhelmed with the support it has received from donors and philanthropists across the region. To date, the Foundation has successfully secured over $55 million in donations and pledges, showcasing the collective commitment of the community towards better healthcare outcomes for all.
LJM Developments Inc. was founded in 2001 with a focus to invest, develop and manage commercial and residential properties in Canada. Their mission is to create a positive impact in every development and exceed market standards with constant innovation. LJM Developments Inc. builds communities and in doing so, recognizes the importance of having proper infrastructure, such as hospitals, in place.
For the Mian Family, giving back to the community has always been an important part of their identity. Culturally, back home in Pakistan, Shaheryar Mian reflected that his parents supported the alleviation of poverty and provided educational opportunities to youth. When the Mian Family came to Canada, they brought that same spirit of giving. The family has a special interest in housing, health, education, and poverty reduction and is proud to support several charitable organizations within the communities they work.

The groundbreaking ceremony for the new South Niagara Hospital took place on July 18th, marking a significant milestone in the journey towards a state-of-the-art healthcare facility in the region. With more than 1.3 million square feet of care and over 450 beds, the hospital will serve as a beacon of hope and healing, offering comprehensive acute care, emergency services, and centers of excellence in stroke and care for the aging population of Niagara.
