The Town’s dock located on Melville Street is now open for public use. This reopening aims to provide residents and visitors with a functional waterfront area.

"The reopening of the Melville Street Dock reflects Council’s commitment to enhancing the community and visitor experience," said Lord Mayor Gary Zalepa. "This waterfront area is now available for public use and will serve as a place for recreation and relaxation."

The project involved removing storage sheds, plant material, and other miscellaneous items to ensure the area was safe and accessible. The site has been thoroughly cleaned and is now ready for use. The dock will be open from dawn to dusk.

"The successful reopening of the dock demonstrates the teamwork and dedication of our Staff," said CAO Bruce Zvaniga. "We acknowledge the efforts made to restore this area and will consider potential future enhancements to further improve the waterfront experience in Niagara-on-the-Lake."

In addition to the current improvements, Town Staff are conducting a review of the site to evaluate potential upgrades to the dock's appeal and usability. Further information will be provided as it becomes available.
