Recently, Public Health staff, community partners and Councillors gathered for the official ribbon-cutting ceremony to celebrate the opening of the new Public Health office in Niagara Falls. The facility is easily accessible to Thorold South, Allanburg and Port Robinson residents.
The Niagara Falls office opened its doors for business on Sept. 23, 2019. The new 21,500 sq. ft. facility offers services including vaccine clinics, dental clinics, parenting classes and breastfeeding clinics, tick identification, mental health program, and sexual health centre – which were previously offered at various locations.
“The social conditions and environments in which people live lead to over 50 per cent of health outcomes. By locating some of our staff in Niagara Falls, we are better able to connect to, understand, and shape the social conditions and environments in which many of our residents live, and enable them to enjoy better health," said Dr. Mustafa Hirji, Acting Medical Officer of Health & Commissioner, Niagara Region Public Health & Emergency Services.
The new office is located at 7835 McLeod Rd., Niagara Falls, near the MacBain Community Centre. Visit niagararegion.ca/health for more information.
