Positive Living Niagara is proud to announce the successful completion of facility enhancements made possible through a generous $82,600 Capital Grant from the Ontario Trillium Foundation (OTF). OTF is one of Canada’s leading granting agencies, supporting community-based projects that enhance people’s well-being across the province. This funding has allowed Positive Living Niagara to improve accessibility and create a more welcoming environment for its service users, staff, and volunteers over the past eight months.
“We are incredibly grateful for OTF's support in revitalizing our spaces,” said Vanessa Fyfe, Director of Administration and Home Support Services at Positive Living Niagara. “With these updates, we have been able to create a more inclusive and accessible environment that fosters safety, dignity, and community engagement for those we serve.”
The project focused on refreshing and maintaining Positive Living Niagara’s facility by repairing minor damages and applying fresh paint throughout the space. The use of specialty mold- and mildew-resistant paint not only enhances the aesthetics of the environment but also ensures long-term protection against moisture damage. These improvements contribute to a more vibrant and inspiring space where individuals seeking support for HIV, Hepatitis C (HCV), sexually transmitted and blood-borne infections (STBBIs), and substance use can feel comfortable and valued.
To bring this project to life, Positive Living Niagara worked with Roberto and his team from Six Element Designs, whose expertise and dedication ensured that every detail of the revitalization was completed with care and precision.
OTF's Capital Grant funding will be formally recognized during our Annual General Meeting on June 18, 2025, where the organization will showcase the completed improvements. This milestone event will also mark 35 years of Positive Living Niagara’s dedication to supporting individuals affected by HIV, HCV, STBBIs, and substance use.
“This investment helps extend the life of our facility and demonstrates our commitment to providing high-quality services,” added Fyfe. “By maintaining and updating our physical space, we are strengthening our ability to serve the diverse populations that rely on our programs.”
Each year, Positive Living Niagara supports thousands of community members through harm reduction initiatives, education, and direct support services. By revitalizing our space, we continue to be a welcoming and essential hub for those in need, fostering a sense of belonging and improving overall well-being.
OTF is one of Canada’s leading granting agencies, supporting community-based projects that enhance people’s well-being across the province. The impact of this grant will be felt for years to come as Positive Living Niagara continues to provide life-changing services to vulnerable populations in the region.
