NEWS RELEASE
CITY OF THOROLD
*************************
October 30, 2022 will be the last day of operation for City of Thorold’s ferry, “Bridge-it” before it closes for the season.
As the only ferry service on the Welland Canal, Bridge-it has been shuttling passengers across the waters since the 1970’s. Local residents often incorporate the ferry into their day trips between the east and west sides of Port Robinson and cycling tourists commonly take the ferry during their rides along the Niagara River Recreational Trail.
“We welcomed almost ten thousand walkers, hikers and cyclists aboard the Bridge-it ferry this year,” said Manoj Dilwaria, chief administrative officer. “We are thankful to our staff who operate the ferry, Niagara Region for their partnership, and all of the residents and visitors who continue to utilize the ferry year after year. We had a great 2022 season and we look forward to welcoming everyone back aboard in the spring!”
Look for the Bridge-it ferry as it makes its way back out on the water in May of next year.
