Hotel Dieu Shaver Foundation has created a unique event that focuses on mobility inclusion – Hope in Motion. Taking place on Saturday,
Sept. 14, 2024, Hope in Motion allows participants to set the challenge.

They will walk or wheel their way around the track at Canada Games Park, at their own pace, setting their own goal.

We’re bringing together our HDS family of health-care staff, patients, program graduates and loved ones, along with our caring community to raise funds for patient care equipment needs at Hotel Dieu Shaver – Niagara’s only rehabilitation and complex care hospital.

“We are excited for this year’s Hope in Motion event, designed once again for individuals to set their own personal goals. We want to create a meaningful experience for patients, staff, families and the community at large to celebrate the incredible hard work and success that comes when patients graduate from programs at Hotel Dieu Shaver,” says Kristina Manzi, executive director, Hotel Dieu Shaver Foundation. “Our team of staff & volunteers are so encouraged by
the amazing participants who challenge themselves to meet their goals. We look forward to witnessing even more inspirational moments this year as we continue to grow this event.”

The cost to participate is $30, and participants can register online at www.HopeInMotion.ca, or by visiting HDS Foundation at 541 Glenridge Ave, St. Catharines, or calling 905-378-HDSF (4373).

This year a youth rate was launched. For children ages 6-12 registration is $20 and children five and under are free. You can also register on event day at Canada Games Park. The registration fee includes the use of the 400-metre track, rest stations along the track, and a BBQ lunch. Participants are encouraged to fundraise in support of patient care at Hotel Dieu Shaver.
Everyone can participate in Hope in Motion! While the event was created with current and past participants in mind, all are welcome to participate.

Chuck, Byron and Lisa are all Hotel Dieu Shaver program graduates. As ambassadors for Hope in Motion, they each have inspiring stories about why they are participating. See how far they have come since their time at HDS:
