Snow squall watch replaces snow squall warning for:
Niagara Falls - Welland - Southern Niagara Region
Current details:
Snow squalls are possible beginning Thursday morning.
Hazards:
Local snowfall accumulations near 15 cm possible.
Significantly reduced visibility in heavy snow and local blowing snow.
Timing:
Beginning Thursday morning and continuing into Thursday evening.
Discussion:
Snow squalls have moved south over Lake Erie but may move inland again Thursday morning.
Visibility may be suddenly reduced at times in heavy snow. Surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways and parking lots may become difficult to navigate due to accumulating snow.
Consider postponing non-essential travel until conditions improve. If you must travel, keep others informed of your schedule and destination and carry an emergency kit and mobile phone.
