   Niagara, Ont. (046700)

Current details:
Winter weather travel advisory in effect for late Wednesday afternoon into early Thursday morning.

What:
Total snowfall amounts of 5 to 10 cm.
Peak snowfall rates of 2 to 3 cm per hour.
Risk of freezing rain.

When:
Beginning late Wednesday afternoon and ending early Thursday morning. The heaviest snow is expected to fall Wednesday night.

Additional Information:
Snow will begin late Wednesday afternoon. Total amounts of up to 10 cm are possible. This snowfall will impact the Wednesday evening commute. Snow may become mixed with freezing rain or ice pellets Wednesday evening or overnight. Precipitation will transition to rain early Thursday morning as temperatures rise above zero.

Motorists should expect hazardous winter driving conditions and adjust travel plans accordingly. Surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways and parking lots may become difficult to navigate due to accumulating snow. There may be a significant impact on rush hour traffic in urban areas.

Be prepared to adjust your driving with changing road conditions. Take extra care when walking or driving in affected areas. Slow down driving in slippery conditions. Watch for taillights ahead and maintain a safe following distance.
