Soos case set for trial next Tuesday

Community activist Steven Soos’ case moves to trial before a judge in St. Catharines next week. The Welland resident was arrested by the Niagara Regional Police on Aug. 17 2023 on two counts of mischief.

The case was heard in a Welland courtroom on Friday, Jan. 26, at which time Justice of the Peace Bruce Phillips scheduled trial for Jan. 30 in courtroom 4 at the Robert S.K. Welch Courthouse, in St. Catharines.

Soos is a former candidate for various elective offices, and has been prominent in recent years as a social advocate for individuals suffering from mental health issues, addiction, and homelessness.
