The Thorold Anchors turned in a solid performance to drop the second-place Rose City Thorns by a 6-1 score at McMillan Park last night.
Thorold was led by Russ McKeown, who had two hits and two RBIs.
Ryan Dalley, Daniel Krasulja, and Jake Maxwell each had a hit and an RBI. The winning pitcher was Luke Edwards, who pitched five innings, allowing four hits and one run.
Thorold had six runs on seven hits, while the Welland team had one run on six hits.
Next Tuesday, July 16, the Anchors will be back at home hosting the Welland Chiefs. Entrance fee is a non-perishable food item for Community Care.
