Thorold BIA hopes to attract visitors Downtown with new promo video

'We have to get the message out. It’s all pretty and all that, but now you need bodies with pulses,' says chair of Thorold BIA

Now that the makeover of Front Street in Downtown Thorold is completed, the Thorold Business Improvement Area Association (BIA) has put together a new video highlighting the beauty of Thorold’s Downtown core.

Says Serge Carpino, the BIA’s chair, “We have to get the message out. It’s all pretty and all that, but now you need bodies with pulses. And you have to have marketing, you have to have advertising, all systems go.”

Covid-19 brought difficulties to businesses everywhere but Carpino says that Downtown Thorold still found a way to thrive.

“We didn’t experience anything that the other downtowns haven’t experienced. Even though we had this pandemic for the last couple of years, the Downtown was still able to attract new businesses. We have a new cosmetics place, we have a couple new doctors, we have a new flower shop, an ice cream shop, so we basically beat the pandemic really.”

Carpino hopes that soon enough events will be happening again.

“We have the car show in July, we have the puppy parade, the Santa Claus parade in November. There are a number of events we’re pencilling in. We’re open, we’re ready for business. We’re hoping, keeping our fingers crossed, that in the new year we’ll be able to plan all these events and attract more people Downtown.”

The promotional video for Downtown Thorold was put together by All Around Media Corp and can be viewed below.
