City hall will be sporting purple each night until Monday in honour of Queen Elizabeth II, to mark the anniversary of her Coronation Day in 1953.

The platinum jubilee will see Thorold’s city hall in royal purple, much like many other government buildings around the Commonwealth all weekend. The Queen, now 96 years of age, is the first British monarch to serve on the throne for 70 years.

Apart from Thorold city hall, Niagara Falls will also be illuminated for the occasion tonight, Thursday between 9–9:15 P.M and onward in 15-minute intervals for the following three hours.
