On Sunday morning, the Thorold Terry Fox Run once again took place — and this year’s edition was a smashing success.
“Sunday was absolutely fabulous,” says organizer Cindy Dickson. “We had our best turnout since before COVID. The parking lot was packed here at the Credit Union. It was really, really good. It was a great day.”
Due to the huge turnout a significant milestone was reached.
“I do not have any numbers yet,” says Dickson. “We’re probably going to be over $20,000 if not higher. What excites me about that is that we’re going to go over our $400,000 mark which we’ve been trying to do for the last couple of years.”
Organizing the annual event is a team effort.
“I always like to thank the Scottish pipers that lead us out and the firefighters that come out and do all the road crossings and keep the roads safe for us, giving up their Sunday morning,” Dickson says. “They’re there for us. It’s very much appreciated.”
One thing’s for certain: Dickson is still buzzing from the success.
“We finally got the crowd back, we finally got the people back which makes it so much nicer,” she says.
