One of the city’s top administrative officials is leaving the job after a little more than two years at Thorold City Hall.
Thorold has a job posting for a new city clerk after Joanne Hyde decided to leave her position, said a statement from the administrative office to ThoroldToday.
“During her time with the City she has brought positive and progressive change," said Executive Assistant Carrie Groulx. "We wish her the best in her future endeavours.”
Hyde joined the city in 2020 after the departure of former clerk Donna Delvecchio.
The successor will be responsible for a slew of high-profile tasks, such as overseeing the upcoming municipal elections, issuing marriage and lottery licenses, providing guidance and legislative advice to the city’s senior management, and keeping tabs on city council meetings.
The job—which pays between $101,678 to $117,450 per year—is reserved for professionals with at least five years experience at a senior level in a clerk’s department. The city considers experience with municipal elections an asset.
Hyde was not available to comment on her departure.
