Trinity United Church is up for sale.
The property at 15 Pine St. S is listed at $1,599,000 and is marketed as an "opportunity for all developers."
As ThoroldToday reported, the church is in bad financial shape and, earlier this year, they notified their tenants that the future was looking uncertain.
“It takes a lot of money for upkeep and repairs,” the Chair of the Church's Council Carol Dueck told ThoroldToday at the time. “It’s our building. We get to choose what we want to do with it. That’s why we’re going down this path, looking to see what’s feasible.”
And now a decision to sell the building seems to have been made.
"This Unique property sits on a deep 362+ foot lot, offering R/3 Multi Residential zoning for future redevelopment," reads the listing by Team Max Whoerle. "This rare property with ideal zoning will bring infinite opportunities for development while maintaining the historic exterior beauty of the main church, more than 174 years old."
When reached for comment, Dueck told ThoroldToday that she is not able to comment on the listing, but until a buyer is found, services at the church are set to continue.
