Volunteer firefighters collect 2000 pounds of food for Community Care Thorold

The annual food drive has become a holiday staple for the volunteer firefighters of Protection Hose Company No. 1.

It was a Christmas weekend to remember!

The members of Protection Hose Company No. 1 were out both Saturday and Sunday at Foodland in Pine Plaza, to collect donations for Community Care Thorold.

The group managed to collect 281 pre-bagged donation bags, along with other food donations totalling approximately 2000 pounds. $2555 was also raised in cash donations, which were converted into gift cards.
