Local Transit: Changes Coming to Niagara Region Transit after Labour Day
There will be some changes coming to Niagara Region Transit after Labour Day in the ongoing effort to expand public transportation options. Changes will include enhanced service on many routes starting on Sept. 3. The changes will result in standardized operating hours of 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday through Saturday on almost all routes. Local Transit: Pelham Expands Transit Service
Starting Sept. 3, Pelham’s transit riders will have more travel options to help them get where they want to go. Pelham transit will operate a two-bus system — the Pelham Circuit and the Pelham Connector — which will allow for consistent transit stops throughout Pelham and connections in Welland. New to the schedule are Niagara Region Transit stops at the Meridian Community Centre from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m. and 3 to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. These stops are done during their route between Brock University and Niagara College. Read more here.
Provincial Comments Wanted: Kick Style Electric Scooter (e-scooters)
Comments wanted by Sept. 12
MTO is strongly committed to promoting the highest standards of safety for all Ontarians who travel on our roads, including drivers, cyclists, and pedestrians. Trends and technology are evolving, with new forms of vehicles, such as e-scooters, entering the market. MTO is interested in new and environmentally-friendly vehicles, however, it is important that new vehicles are constructed with appropriate safety features to allow safe integration with all other road users and all road users are following the rules of the road. As a result, MTO is soliciting feedback to inform the development of a regulatory and policy framework regarding the use of e-scooters. Please see details and where to provide comment here.
