INTERCOUNTY BASEBALL LEAGUE

After scoring once through eight innings, the Welland Jackfish erupted for seven runs in the ninth of Sunday’s 8-7 win over Brantford at Arnold Anderson Stadium.
Matteo Porcellato started the rally with a two-run blast as Welland was down 6-1 with three outs left. Greyson Barrett homered with the bases empty, Ethan Hunt hit a two-run single in the ninth, while Steven Morello and Robert Mullen had an RBI apiece.
Caleb Feuerstake (1-1) fanned two and walked two to pick up the win in an inning of scoreless relief. Danny Howat worked around a run in the ninth for the save.
Stephen Whalen singled, homered and drove in two for the Red Sox (8-15). Nick Burdett added an RBI, and Ethan Paulos had a pair of RBI. Vaibhav Desai singled, doubled and scored.
Damian Clarke (0-1) was stuck with the loss after allowing three runs (two earned) without recording an out. He yielded a hit and walked two.
