The Pelham Panthers buried the Blackhawks 9-2 in front of the Thorold crowd, smashing any hopes of a playoff comeback.
Pelham had jumped out ahead by three games in the seven-game series before Thorold scored two victories, raising the hopes of their fans.
Play was fairly even in the first period but Pelham got a goal from Dylan Biggar to take a 1-0 lead into the first intermission.
Evan Miller evened things up for Thorold less than two minutes into the second period. But Pelham went ahead for good on goals from Chris Webber and Wyatt Thole, who scored the eventual winner on a power play.
Nicholas Rubino added one more for Thorold but then it was all Pelham, as they scored six unanswered goals.
Thorold seemed determined to ensure defeat as they took eight of nine penalties in the third period. In all, Pelham scored four power play goals on 10 chances.
Pelham also got goals from BIggar (2), Thomas Young; Thole added two more, and Adam Scholz.
Brandon McCorriston notched his fourth playoff win in goal for Pelham, while Noah Fortuna took the loss.
The games stars were Thole, Curtis Emery and Biggar, all of Pelham.
