Saturday the Thorold Novice Blackhawks took on the Wainfleet Wild in their first playoff game. Both teams turned in solid performances and it was reflected in the tied final score.
Thorold played a hard defensive game holding Wainfleet’s star player to only 1 goal.
Blackhawks Adam Santos had a great game with 3 goals and goalie Kayden Alguire was excellent making some big saves down the stretch.
Thorold held a 3-2 lead late but could not hold off the wild as they tied it up with :37 left in the 3rd period.
The final score was 3-3 with both teams receiving 1 point.
Thorold will host the Lincoln Blades 1 on Saturday Feb. 16 at 11:20 a.m. in the James Whyte Arena in Thorold .
