June 24, 1928 - July 17, 2024

Passed away peacefully, at Tabor Manor LTC, on Wednesday, July 17, 2024 at the age of 96. Loving husband of Mary (nee Isky) for 67 years, father of Alexander "Alex" and uncle of Debra Taylor. Predeceased by his parents, Efrem and Staphie; sisters, Nattie Taylor (Donald) and Anne Hayes (David); and brother-in-law, Michael “Mike” Isky.

Shortly after his birth in SE Poland (now SW Ukraine), Alec's family immigrated to Canada and settled in Tisdale, Sask. Following the end of WWII, they moved to St. Catharines. After completing high school at the St. Catharines Collegiate, Alec continued onto post secondary education and graduated from University of Toronto Dentistry in 1955. He then returned to St. Catharines where he practiced dentistry for 43 years; retiring at age 70. He was a past president of the Niagara Peninsula Dental Association (1975). Alec was an avid walker who enjoyed his walks to/from his office during the work week. In addition he was a familiar sight on a regular daily route through the downtown core during his working life and well into retirement. The family would like to thank Dr. Matthew Greenway and all the staff at Tabor Manor LTC who through kind and considerate care kept Alec very content during his stay there these past 2 1/2 years.

In honouring Alec’s wishes private family arrangements have taken place. If desired, memorial donations can be made to the Alzheimer Society of Canada or to a charity of your choice. https://donate.mytributegift.org/Service?cid=fc2283fd68f4557fff7cfa42ae295db61fb38e9249d4fb2e0df2f7890b5e057d
