With sadness we announce Antonio’s passing on Wednesday, September 22, 2021 at the Niagara Heath St. Catharines Site, at the age of 93. He is predeceased by his wife of 44 years Pasqualina (1997). Loving father to Brenda (John) and Tina (Tony). Proud Nonno of Anthony (Julia), Joseph (Renee), Julia (Jamie), and Alysha (Connor). Adoring Bisnonno to Ella, Layla, Christian, Nathan, Eden and Baby Girl Mini. Antonio was the second of nine siblings born in Limosano, p. Campobasso, Italy to the late Michele and Addolorata Fiorucci. Dear brother of the late Guiseppe (late Beatrice), Vincenza (late Amedeo) Giancola, Rosina (Rolando) Cancellara, Flaviano (Concetta), the late Armando (late Elena), the late Angelo (Angela) Fiorucci, Carmela (Dionino) Dell'Elce and the late Assuntino (Giovanna). Son-in-law of the late Antonio and Rosina Bonadie and brother-in-law to the late Costanzo (late Eileen) Bonadie and Josephine (late Mike) D’Addario. Antonio is lovingly remembered by his many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Antonio arrived in Canada in 1953, shortly thereafter he married Pat and they started their life together. The first of his family to immigrate, he and Pat welcomed and assisted his parents and siblings on their journeys to a better life in Canada. Antonio worked hard his whole life, first working the family land in Italy, and later in Canada in the construction industry. He eagerly learned the art of plastering, eventually starting his own business which evolved into residential and commercial construction. What he lacked in education he made up for with sheer will and strength. He accomplished whatever he set his mind to. Antonio’s other passion were his flowering plants, fig tree and enormous vegetable garden which he tended diligently until his move into the retirement home. Making home-made tomato sauce and wine were annual rituals. Relatives and friends will be received at Bocchinfuso Funeral Home 2 Regent Street, Thorold on Friday, September 24, 2021, from 2:00 – 4:00 PM and 7:00 – 9:00 PM. A Private Family Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church. In accordance with COVID polices all guests must bring and wear a mask and follow all physical distancing restrictions. Memorial donations in memory of Antonio may be made to the Alzheimer Society or the Canadian Cancer Society and would be appreciated by his family.
