1954 - 2024

The Hyde family are saddened to announce that Bruce, at age 69, passed away peacefully with his wife Angela by his side, on Tuesday, July 23, 2024, at Niagara Health - St. Catharines Hospital.

Bruce will be forever missed by his beloved wife Angela Nicastro-Hyde and cherished always by his four daughters Jennifer Hyde, Joanne Gordon (Jamie), Julie Hyde (Blake), Logan Hyde (Max) and six grandchildren Kayla, Kenneth, Dylan, Skylar, Nathyn and Leah.

Bruce was the 3rd child of Sheila Hyde (Stoodley) and Daniel Hyde (both predeceased) and will be sorely missed by his siblings David Hyde (Heather), Diane Hyde, Karen Hyde and their families.

A Celebration of Life will be held in Fonthill on Wednesday, July 31 with visitation from 10 am to noon; service at 12 pm, followed by a reception lunch at 12:30 pm at the Pelham Funeral Home, 1292 Pelham St., Fonthill, ON.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks to consider a donation to the Bruce Hyde Memorial Bench Fund to honour and remember his work as founder of Niagara Pickleball Masters (NPM) as part of the Global Pickleball Network. E-transfer can be made to [email protected]

His tireless work with this and as a Director at NIPA to elevate the sport, mentor and train members with focus on tournaments and networking with facilities in Niagara to put Niagara on the map for pickleball, will be a legacy that will live on. Any remaining funds will go directly to funding future tournament costs for NPM.
